CHAPTER SEVENTY-NINE: 2019 MUTUAL ALBUM = GOLD HEART

MIRACLE
We were visiting Angel (baptized like a year and a half ago) and her kids were SO rambunctious. Alex (8) kept writing rude things on a whiteboard and interrupting, and Victoria (5) wouldn’t sit still. We shared a children’s video that no one really paid attention to, then set up another time to start teaching the family the missionary lessons. We sang a song and said a prayer before we left and Alex’s whole demeanor had changed. He was suddenly interested in the words being sung and asked us to sing a few more hymns as well! The spirit that is brought by the sacred hymns, completely softens hearts.

SPIRITUAL THOUGHT
We are in charge of our own learning. We CAN’T just sit around doing nothing waiting for God to give us a testimony, we have to seek it out. If you want to know if something is true, you research it from good sources and pray about it. “Relying on the Lord” isn’t sitting around waiting for a miracle, it’s putting one foot in front of the other, trusting that He’s walking beside you. (suggested reading: 2 Nephi 32:1-5 and D&C 42:61)
